Membership Categories for New Members

Every person who adheres to the Objectives, Code of Ethics and Conduct and Constitution and By-laws of the Association and has paid the annual fees associated with their category of membership, shall be considered a member in good standing.
  • To apply for a new membership, please complete and mail the registration form, along with all required supporting documents and a cheque in the correct amount, payable to the Reflexology Association of B.C. to the address stated on the form.
  • Carefully review the membership criteria listed below for your category before you send in your application. Submit all requested documentation with your application.
  • All applicants must sign and submit a copy of the RABC Code of Ethics and Code of Standards and agree to adhere to the Constitution, By-laws and Policies of the Reflexology Association of British Columbia and pay the applicable annual membership fees when they become due.

Code of Ethics & Conduct

Approved Practitioner

To qualify for this category, you must:
  • Have at least one certificate of completion of a Reflexology Practitioner Training course/program* that is comprised of a minimum 40 hours classroom study and 60 hours practicum.
* Certificates/Diplomas of Schools and Institutes offering Reflexology Practitioner Training courses/program recognized by RABC. The curriculum will contain basic Reflexology history, Anatomy (with enhancements on Foot Anatomy), Physiology and Pathology, Methodology and a mandatory knowledge of the "Thumb Walking Technique", General Assessments, Client and Session records, General Business practices and Ethical and Professional conduct and practices for the Reflexologist.
Please note: If your course has met the above criteria, but the institute/school that provided your training is not recognized by RABC, you may submit your documentation along with your membership application and other documentation. Our Membership Director and Educational Standards and Approvals Committee will review non-conforming applications on a case by case basis.
  • To become an Approved Member, applicants must apply to participate in the RABC Proficiency & Practical Examination by downloading and submitting the completed form provided in the next section along with the membership application. An interim 18-month Practitioner membership without an "Approved" certification will be provided for new Practitioners that are in the process of completing the requirements to obtain the certification or are waiting to participate in the RABC Proficiency Examination.

Documentation to be submitted with your membership fee:
  • A completed and signed RABC membership application form for the Approved Practitioner category for the current year. Individuals not having successfully participated in a written and practical examination during their training must also complete and submit the application to participate in the RABC Proficiency Examination.
  • A copy of RABC's Code of Ethics and Standards that is signed by you.
  • A copy of your Reflexology Practitioner Training Transcript(s), Certificate(s) or Diploma(s).

Applying for an Approved Practitioner Membership but a written and practical examination was not part of your course curriculum?

Individuals who have met or exceeded the required hours in practicum and classroom but did not participate in a written or practical examination can register to take part in the RABC Proficiency Examination (written and practical segments) for membership as an Approved Practitioner. To register, download, complete and submit the form with the registration fee along with your membership application.

Instructor/Teacher

To qualify for this category, you must:
  • Have met all the requirements of an Approved Practitioner Membership.
  • Have a Teaching Certificate or equivalent training that is recognized by RABC.
  • Have practiced reflexology for at least two (2) years, for a total of 200 hours, keeping a record of Reflexology sessions on the form provided below.​

Documentation to be submitted with your membership fee:
  • A completed RABC Teacher Membership Application form for the current year.
  • A copy of RABC's Code of Ethics and Standards that is signed by you.
  • A copy of your Reflexology Teacher's Certificate, course notes, charts and the original copy of the 200 hour session record with your application.

Instructor/Teacher Membership - Session Record

Associate

Associate memberships are only available for:
  • Other Associations
  • Reflexology educational institutions or organizations offering Association accredited Reflexology training courses and programs for Approved RABC Reflexology class memberships.
  • Organizations not affiliated with the practice of Reflexology and those having products of interest for the practicing Reflexologist.
  • Individuals having no practitioner training and no business licence for the practice of Reflexology.
Please note: Enhanced listings on the RABC website are not available for Associate memberships.

Documentation to be submitted with your membership fee:
  • A completed and signed Membership Application form for the Associate category.
  • A copy of RABC's Code of Ethics and Standards that is signed by you.

Membership Fee: $50.00 

Student

Student memberships are available for individuals actively participating in a Reflexology Practitioner Training Course or Program.
Please note: Enhanced listings on the RABC website are not available for Student memberships.

Documentation to be submitted with your membership fee:
  • A completed and signed Membership Application form for the Student category.
  • A copy of RABC's Code of Ethics and Standards that is signed by you.

Membership Fee: $45.00
